Kadampa Center. This ground, anointed with perfume, strewn with flowers, Adorned with Mount Meru, four continents, the sun and the Moon: I imagine this as a Buddha-field and offer it. May all living beings enjoy this pure land! It will fulfill all the positive wishes you have and eliminate stinginess. Making mandala offerings creates a lot of merit, which is the cause for success. This practice of generosity has been taught by great lineage practitioners. Thank YOU!
This ground, anointed with perfume, flowers strewn, Mount Meru, four lands, sun and moon, imagined as Buddha-land and offered to you. May all beings enjoy this pure land. In the east the continent Lupagpo; in the south, the continent Dzambuling; in the west, the continent Balangcho; in the north, the continent Draminyan. In the east, the treasure mountain, in the south the wish-granting tree, in the west the wish-granting cow, in the north the uncultivated crops. Here are the precious wheel, the precious jewel, the precious queen, the precious minister, the precious elephant, the precious horse, the precious general, the great treasure vase. Here are the goddess of beauty, the goddess of garlands, the goddess of song, the goddess of dance, the goddess of flowers, the goddess of incense, the goddess of light and the goddess of perfume. Here are the sun, the moon, the precious parasol, the banner of victory in all directions and in the center are the most perfect riches of gods and humans, with nothing missing, pure and delightful. To my glorious, holy and most kind root Guru, the lineage Gurus, and in particular to the great Lama Tsongkhapa, Buddha who is the King of Sages, Vajradhara, and the entire assembly of deities, I offer these as a Buddha-field. Please accept them with compassion, for the sake of migrating beings.
Finally, it is a very tight-knit community and despite efforts to insulate you from conversion-minded missionaries, you will be exposed to a lot of people that think, like this woman does, that atheists are without a moral compass. A lot of people will tell you to run but if she is in her late 20s most Mormon guys her age are married. I would love to someday find myself sitting in the pew with you, sharing this amazing journey. Propagandists in the media throw around the word patriarchy as if it is synonymous with anything male. You can always expand these into group dates by inviting other couples along, which may make her more comfortable in the early stages of your relationship. I have been dating a surgeon and we are thinking about marriage. On the other hand lol handshe may fall into tearing guilt and leave you immediately.
Go on dates on days other than Sunday. I would go ahead and make boundaries with the conversation about kids and church, if that is your preference. I get to spend my life with someone who was not raised on fear and guilt and strict gender roles. We had lots of sex and fun. Keep the relationship casual. But my son will be 14 then and I will feel that I've already done the work of raising a child. I have searched for a blog, or some support group for men struggling to figure out how to survive being married to a female physician, especially of an extremely demanding subspecialty. She was fine marrying in an LDS church instead of the temple, didn't want to convert me, and most importantly didn't try to change my beliefs or opinions. You've all been so helpful. You guys are looking into this wayyyyyyy too much.
