Representative Greg Steube (R-FL) is reintroducing legislation to prevent United States security assistance from going to Lebanon until their government stops recognizing Hezbollah.

Creatively named the "Preventing Armed Groups from Engaging in Radicalism" (PAGER) Act, a likely reference to Israel's elimination of Hezbollah leadership via explosive pagers, Rep. Steube's bill terminates US security assistance to the Armed Forces of Lebanon until their government rescinds recognition of Hezbollah and its military wing.

Additionally, Hezbollah members must be banned from serving in the Lebanese government, which must also extend to affiliates and members of other Iran-backed militias. Moreover, such groups must be expelled from Lebanon, all weapons supplied by Iran and these affiliates must be destroyed, and any Americans exposing Hezbollah's influence and imprisoned by the Lebanese government must be released.

In his press release, Rep. Steube said, "While the world celebrates the demise of Hassan Nasrallah, the United States must remain vigilant to the threat of Hezbollah. Until the people of Lebanon can live free of Hezbollah's terror and persecution, long-term peace and stability in the Middle East will remain out of reach. As the Trump administration works to forge closer ties between Israel and the Arab world, Congress must do its part to contain Iran and eliminate its terrorist network. My PAGER Act will ensure US tax dollars never end up in the hands of Hezbollah."

Earlier in February, the Florida Congressman wrote a letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, demanding the cessation of security assistance funding to Iraq for similar reasons.

As Steube explained, pro-Iran Shia militias that the United States funded to defeat the Islamic State (ISIS) have attacked US forces ever since, staging 170 attacks in just two years.

"Replacing ISIS with Iran-backed terrorist militias does not make sense and only fuels the onslaught of terror that the Iranian regime seeks to export. Furthermore, many Iran-backed militias in Iraq have not even been designated as Foreign Terrorist Organizations, including the Badr Corps itself," Steube fumed in his letter.

National Security Advisor Mike Waltz discussed the fallout from Friday's tense meeting between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in a recent appearance on Fox News, saying the latter was "not ready to talk peace at all," yet "time is not on his side."

In addition, Waltz called the communication breakdown "ridiculous and unacceptable," as Zelenskyy's apparent disinterest in ending the Russia-Ukraine war is a disservice, as "the American people's patience is not unlimited. Their wallets are not unlimited, and our stockpiles and munitions are not unlimited."

"So the time to talk is now, and what we are hearing in terms of alternatives, whether it is the Democrats or leaders around the world, is essentially continuing this grinding, World War I-style trench warfare that is a meatgrinder of people, munitions, and national treasure. The President campaigned on ending this war, he was elected to end this war. He will be the peacemaker in chief," Waltz continued.

Co-host Bill Hemmer noted that the United Kingdom, France, and the European Union are drafting various terms to ensure the war ends and peace is maintained, asking if Russian President Vladimir Putin has felt enough pressure to come forward for peace talks.

Waltz answered that remained to be "tested, but what we do not have right now is President Zelenskyy saying, 'I am ready to take the steps necessary and have the conversations necessary and make the compromises necessary to end the fighting and go to a ceasefire."

Moreover, Waltz suggested terms for at least a temporary ceasefire before Friday's debacle. Still, if Zelenskyy is truly ready to end the war, "we need to hear that latter piece from Zelenskyy, and we need to hear it publicly."

Co-host Dana Perino further asked if a rare earth minerals deal with Ukraine would be reached between Trump and Zelenskyy or another leader. Waltz said that "what happened Friday really put that up in the air," yet to end the war, "both sides are going to have to make compromises."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy entered the White House and sat down with President Donald Trump (R) and Vice President JD Vance (R) as negotiations between the United States and Russia to possibly end the war carry on.

During the exchange, President Trump and Vice President Vance both described President Zelenskyy as "disrespectful" to the American people and the Oval Office, with Vance accusing Zelenskyy of attempting to "litigate" his case in front of the American media.

Vance then asked Zelenskyy if the Ukrainian military is facing problems with recruitment numbers and then asked if it was respectful to come to the Oval Office and "attack the administration trying to prevent the destruction of your country."

Zelenskyy responded by saying that everyone has problems during wars, even the United States. However, Zelenskyy noted that while the U.S. has a "nice ocean" that serves as a protective barrier against attacks, it will "feel" the pains of war in the "future."

This prompted Trump to immediately step in, saying:

"You don't know that. Don't tell us what we're going to feel. We're trying to solve a problem. You're in no position to dictate what we're going to feel...You don't have the cards right now. You're gambling with the lives of millions of people. You're gambling with World War III."

Vance then called out Zelenskyy with a rhetorical question, asking whether he had "said thank you" during the entirety of the meeting. He then called out Zelenskyy again for campaigning with Democrats in Pennsylvania during the 2024 election cycle.

Trump added that it would be hard to do business with their disagreements.

On social media, Trump released the following statement after the meeting:

“We had a very meaningful meeting in the White House today. Much was learned that could never be understood without conversation under such fire and pressure. It’s amazing what comes out through emotion, and I have determined that President Zelenskyy is not ready for Peace if America is involved, because he feels our involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations. I don’t want advantage, I want PEACE. He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for Peace,” said Trump.

The press conference between Trump and Zelenskyy was subsequently canceled.

Gov. Ron DeSantis didn't know that right-wing podcaster Andrew Tate, facing rape and trafficking charges in Romania, was flying to Florida until he read about it in the media Thursday morning.

And the Florida Governor, who's taken a strong stance against sexual crimes throughout his two terms, is not pleased.

"I have confidence that whether it's [U.S. Attorney General] Pam Bondi or [Secretary of Homeland Security] Kristi Noem, that they will be looking at [rebuffing Tate's entry]," DeSantis said at a Thursday morning press conference in Starke, before noting that while the issue is a federal one, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier is looking into what "state hooks and jurisdiction" the Sunshine State may have.

"The reality is no, Florida is not a place where you're welcome with that type of conduct," DeSantis continued. "I don't know how it came to this. We were not involved, and we were not notified."

Uthmeier has since partnered with state law enforcement to conduct a "preliminary inquiry," promising to hold the alleged criminals accountable if their supposed crimes "trigger Florida jurisdiction," he said on social media.

The New York Times reported early Thursday that British-American influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate boarded a flight to Florida from Romania, where they've been held since 2022 on charges of rape, human trafficking, money laundering, and starting an organized crime group. They've denied all wrongdoing.

Prosecutors lifted a travel ban on the brothers allegedly after President Donald Trump's administration asked Romanian authorities to ease restrictions on Tate, a self-proclaimed misogynist who garnered a mass following for his "alpha male" views, podcast, and book, unsurprisingly titled "The Way of Alpha." Romania's Foreign Ministry denies any U.S. pressure in the lifted ban.

The brothers, who landed in Fort Lauderdale around 11 a.m., are expected to head back to Romania for their next court appearance on March 24, their defense lawyer told CNN.

The older, more well-known, and more criminally accused brother, Andrew, has racked up billions of views on social media platforms like TikTok and X for his views on female submission and male dominance. A four-time kickboxing world champion, Tate's controversial beliefs include claiming that women should "bear responsibility" for sexual assault—a view that got him banned from Twitter before it became X, where he's since been reinstated.

The Tate brothers were first detained in Bucharest, Romania in Dec. 2022 as part of an investigation into alleged rape and human trafficking. They were charged six months later and banned from leaving the country. In March 2024, British police were granted a warrant to extradite the elder Tate to the UK on other allegations of rape and human trafficking, the BBC reported.

Separately, in May 2024, four women in the UK brought a civil case against the brothers, seeking damages for alleged injuries incurred after a sexual assault. In July 2024, the two began to fend off another civil case in the UK alleging that they hadn't paid any taxes on the revenue brought in from their online businesses, including their platform "Hustlers University."

The two deny all wrongdoing and have since set off for Florida.

DeSantis, meanwhile, has been a strong opponent of human trafficking and sexual crimes. Most recently, he approved $4.9 million in the state budget to expand access to emergency beds for trafficking victims, established a $900,000 grant through the Department of Children and Families to enhance anti-trafficking training for law enforcement, and signed a slew of legislation targeting online predators.

The House Armed Services Committee (HASC) is quietly planning an official congressional trip (CODEL) to the U.S. Naval base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba as more illegal aliens are being detained and sent there from the mainland.

The Floridian has learned that during a recent 4-day trip to Fort Buchanan on the island of Puerto Rico, members of the HASC were briefed on the current military status in the region and how the Army garrison situated in the City of San Juan, could become the “Tip of the Spear” for the Department of Defense in the growingly hostile Western Hemisphere.

In addition, staffers were in a preliminary discussion about putting together the official trip to GITMO to address the ongoing and aforementioned deportation of illegal aliens that the Trump administration is conducting across the country.

The majority of deported Venezuelan illegal aliens have made their way to GITMO.

Florida Congress Carlos Gimenez (R), sits on the HASC and who, at 7 years old, fled Cuba with his family back in 1960, spoke to The Floridian about possibly returning to the island after so many years.

“I haven’t been back since November of 1960, that’s when I left Cuba. I would think that it could get emotional for me going back to Cuba. I was born there. I haven’t been back there in 60 years,” said Rep. Gimenez.

Rep. Gimenez added that under the Trump administration, “a refocusing of America on the Western Hemisphere” needed to be established, saying that U.S. neighbors and partners have been ignored.

“We need to establish a refocusing of America on the Western Hemisphere,” he said. “I thing for too long, we have been ignoring our neighbors in our own hemisphere, and Russia and China have taken advantage of that and filled that vacuum.”

Shortly after taking office, President Donald Trump asserted that criminal illegal aliens would be sent to Guantanamo Bay.

“We have 30,000 beds in Guantanamo to detain the worst criminal illegal aliens threatening the American people. Some of them so bad, we don’t even trust their countries to hold them because we don’t want them coming back, so we are going to send them out to Guantanamo,” said President Trump during a White House press conference.

A date has not been set for the congressional visit to Guantanamo Bay.

National Security Adviser Mike Waltz spoke with Fox and Friends about the continuing negotiations to end the Russia-Ukraine war, saying President Donald Trump and the White House "expect to get this deal done."

"We have been all hands on deck. Secretary [Scott] Bessent, our Treasury Secretary, has been leading the charge, and frustrations are high," Waltz began, adding that "the United States has stepped forward for Ukraine in a historic and tremendous way."

Additionally, Waltz suggested the Ukrainians have "to realize the opportunity that this is, to be co-invested with the United States of America in the future of Ukraine and the future of its economy and growing the pie in terms of its natural resources that not only helps Ukraine but recoups these hundreds of billions of dollars for the Ukrainian people and the American taxpayer going forward. So we expect to get this deal done. President Trump expects to get this deal done, and I think you will see that in very short order."

Host Lawrence Jones noted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has offered to resign his position if it means ending the war and his country's membership in NATO, which Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said is "not realistic."

Waltz agreed as this would mean the United States would be obligated to defend NATO. " We have been asking for years for Europe to step up for its own defense, and we have been asking for years for Europe to pay for its own defense, as the US taxpayers have been taking an unfair burden for decades."

Jones then asked how a possible deal with Ukraine for its rare earth mineral deposits is going and what it may look like, to which Waltz answered, "Our position has been 50% of growing the pie is better than the 100% of where [the Ukrainians] are today."

"So let us grow together in an economic partnership. And of course, the US would protect our assets for which we are invested in. This could mean trillions, not only for the Ukrainian people but for us and the stability of the region, and that economic investment is one of the best security guarantees that Ukraine could ever hope for," Waltz concluded.

Senator Rick Scott has reintroduced the Protect America’s Innovation and Economic Security from CCP Act, a bill that aims to solidify President Trump’s CCP Initiative under the Department of Justice (DOJ) to "prevent spying from the Chinese Communist Party on U.S. intellectual property and academic institutions."

This program looks to protect America’s best interests by fighting back against the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) attempts to take U.S. data, intellectual property, and trade secrets as well as protect the United States' "critical infrastructure and supply chains from foreign investments."

According to Sen. Scott, the Protect America’s Innovation and Economic Security from CCP Act would accomplish the following for against China:

  • CCP Initiative: Establishes the CCP Initiative within the DOJ’s National Security Division to counter national security threats to American interests.
  • Enforcement:
    • Targets trade secret theft, economic espionage, and cyberattacks by CCP-affiliated entities, including Chinese companies engaged in unfair competition with U.S. businesses, while investigating their investments in the U.S.
    • Strengthens the enforcement of the CFIUS regulations, particularly those related to Chinese investments, by collaborating with the DOT to implement amendments from the Foreign Investment Risk Review Modernization Act.
  • Coordination with Federal Agencies: Mandates collaboration between the DOJ, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and other federal agencies to ensure coordinated efforts to safeguard American infrastructure from foreign threats, particularly in technology and supply chains.
  • Resources and Independence: Ensures independent operation with dedicated resources, distinct from other national security programs within the DOJ, allowing for specialized attention on CCP-related threats.

Sen. Scott shared that this move to reinstate President Donald Trump's (R) policies on China protects American national security and reverses former President Joe Biden's (D) "blind-eye" leadership on the issue.

“The Chinese Communist Party is one of the greatest threats to America’s national security and way of life as it seeks global domination by any means necessary," said Sen. Scott. "President Joe Biden recklessly ended the China Initiative that President Trump established during his first term, turning a blind eye as Communist China committed at least 60 known cases of espionage on the United States and our citizens during his administration."

The former Florida governor continued by saying that this bill will codify President Trump's intentions to hold China accountable for its hostilities against the United States.

"Now, President Trump is back in action to hold Communist China fully accountable for its exploitation of the United States. Our bill, the Protect America’s Innovation and Economic Security from CCP Act, will bring back the successful CCP Initiative to help President Trump face this threat head-on and Make America Safe Again," concluded Scott.

National Security Adviser Mike Waltz discussed the ongoing negotiations between the United States, Ukraine, and Russia to end the war in a recent appearance on Fox and Friends, effectively saying Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is in no place to criticize President Donald Trump for wanting to end hostilities.

Zelenskyy accused Trump of living in a "disinformation space," which earned him accusations of being a "dictator" from the American President after Trump's summit with the Russians.

"There is obviously a lot of frustration here," Waltz told Fox and Friends host Brian Kilmeade, suggesting "we presented the Ukrainians an incredible and historic opportunity to have the United States coinvest in Ukraine, invest in its economy, invest in its natural resources, and really become a partner in Ukraine's future in a way that is sustainable but also would be, I think, the best security guarantee they could ever hope for, much more than another pallet of ammunition."

As a result, Waltz further added, the United States, and by extension, Trump, does not deserve to be criticized for all of the aid it has given to Ukraine, calling it "unacceptable" and "they need to tone it down, take a hard look, and sign that deal."

Kilmeade asked if the tension could be eased, which the national security adviser said was possible since "the President also said how much he loves the Ukrainian people, and again, he was the first to arm them back in his first term. We have done a lot for the security of Ukraine, and to say that we are going to change the nature of our aid going forward, I do not think should offend anyone."

From there, Kilmeade asked Waltz if he had a response to Democrats attempting to criticize Trump's efforts to end the war as "surrender" and pro-Putin.

"You know, I guess all of those Democrats were perfectly fine with seeing hundreds of thousands of people, literally on a daily, weekly, monthly basis, in a meatgrinder of a war that has turned into an endless war under Joe Biden, who could not define success and basically said as long as it takes, as much as it takes, no matter how many people die, no matter how much death and destruction, because I have not heard any one of them actually present a plan to bring this war to an end. President Trump has done that, and we are going to execute it," Waltz concluded.

The Trump Administration’s decision to revoke Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for over 500,000 Venezuelans has sparked outrage among South Florida lawmakers and activists who argue that sending exiles back to Nicolás Maduro’s regime will only worsen the ongoing humanitarian crisis, while experts argue this would increase migration.

Repatriation flights to Venezuela resumed on February 10th, raising concerns about broader U.S. policy towards Venezuela.

Many Republicans are calling for a return to the "maximum pressure" strategy that President Donald Trump (R) promoted during his first term. Secretary of State Marco Rubio (R) and Special Envoy for Latin America Mauricio Clever-Carone have voiced a similar hardline approach, but critics argue that returning to the “maximum pressure” approach would only cripple the Venezuelan economy without achieving regime change.

Doral Vice Mayor Maureen Porras, who's expressed disagreement with ending TPS, believes that the U.S. should continue to "apply pressure" while noting the complexity of the situation.

"The most recent pressure campaign was not effective in getting political change in Venezuela, but neither was the easing of sanctions," Vice Mayor Porras told The Floridian in an exclusive interview. "Regardless, we should continue to apply the pressure on Venezuela."

University of Colorado economist Francisco Rodriguez found that reinstating maximum pressure sanctions could drive 1 million more Venezuelans to flee over the next five years. His study further suggests that 4 million Venezuelans would have remained in their country had U.S. sanctions not been imposed.

Rodriguez, in a recent op-ed for The Hill, argued that returning to the strategy “would do nothing more than punish millions of Venezuelans who should not bear the burden for Maduro’s atrocities.”

“Rather than weaken Maduro,” Rodriguez wrote in the op-ed, “sanctions have strengthened his position, enabling his concentration of power and consolidation of ties with America’s adversaries. As U.S. companies have exited Venezuela, they have been replaced by actors from China, Russia and Iran, further entrenching Maduro’s regime and reducing U.S. influence in the region.”

Similarly, Venezuelan professor Luis Pedro España warns that resuming oil-related sanctions could dramatically increase poverty, echoing the conditions from 2017 to 2020, when 94% of Venezuelans lived in poverty and 2.5 million households fell into economic despair.

Florida Reps. Carlos Gimenez (R), Mario Diaz-Balart (R), Maria Elvira Salazar (R), Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D), and Weston Commissioner Fabio Andrade are among the locals who also disagree with ending TPS.

Rep. Gimenez has urged Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to ensure Venezuelans fleeing communism receive protection, emphasizing that not all Venezuelans should be stigmatized due to criminal elements like the Tren de Aragua gang. Rep. Diaz-Balart has similarly pressed Secretary Noem to prevent the forced return of Venezuelans without criminal records to a "repressive dictatorship."

"The majority of Americans agree on the need to secure our borders and to remove immigrants that are breaking the law and are burdening our systems," Vice Mayor Porras told The Floridian. "Passing the Venezuelan Adjustment Act would help fix temporary solutions like TPS by providing law abiding Venezuelans already in the U.S. a path to permanent residency," she added.

President Donald Trump (R) released a message on his social media app, Truth Social, regarding Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the negotiations between the United States and Russia regarding the Ukrainian-Russian War.

President Trump has accused President Zelenskyy of being a "dictator" who "wants to keep the 'gravy train' going," referring to the hundreds of billions of dollars the United States has sent Ukraine amidst this conflict during the Biden administration.

The 45th and 47th President began by stating the war could've never been won by Ukraine, nor should it have ever started. However, President Trump believes only the United States can bring the conflict to a resolution.

"Think of it, a modestly successful comedian, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, talked the United States of America into spending $350 Billion Dollars, to go into a War that couldn’t be won, that never had to start, but a War that he, without the U.S. and 'TRUMP,' will never be able to settle," said Trump.

He continued, sharing his belief that President Biden did not look after the United States' best interests during the war, comparing the U.S. and Europe's aid packages and how they are repaid, if at all.

"The United States has spent $200 Billion Dollars more than Europe, and Europe’s money is guaranteed, while the United States will get nothing back," said Trump. "Why didn’t Sleepy Joe Biden demand Equalization, in that this War is far more important to Europe than it is to us — We have a big, beautiful Ocean as separation. On top of this, Zelenskyy admits that half of the money we sent him is 'MISSING.'"

Furthermore, Trump accuses Zelenskyy of being a dictator who manipulated America and plans to continue the flow of billions of dollars to Ukraine under the guise of foreign aid.

"He refuses to have Elections, is very low in Ukrainian Polls, and the only thing he was good at was playing Biden 'like a fiddle.' A Dictator without Elections, Zelenskyy better move fast or he is not going to have a Country left. In the meantime, we are successfully negotiating an end to the War with Russia, something all admit only 'TRUMP,' and the Trump Administration, can do," said the President. "Biden never tried, Europe has failed to bring Peace, and Zelenskyy probably wants to keep the 'gravy train' going."

Trump concluded by saying he supports Ukraine, but the entire situation has been wrongly handled from the beginning.

"I love Ukraine, but Zelenskyy has done a terrible job, his Country is shattered, and MILLIONS have unnecessarily died – And so it continues….." Trump said.

President Donald Trump (R) has announced that negotiations have begun between the United States, Russia, and Ukraine to end the war in Eastern Europe. Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, and the death toll from the conflict is in the millions, according to President Trump.

The 45th and 47th President announced the beginning of negotiations on his social media platform, Truth Social. Trump shared his acknowledgment of both the United States and Russia's partnership during World War II, and how that relationship could be restored.

"I just had a lengthy and highly productive phone call with President Vladimir Putin of Russia," began Trump. "We discussed Ukraine, the Middle East, Energy, Artificial Intelligence, the power of the Dollar, and various other subjects. We both reflected on the Great History of our Nations, and the fact that we fought successfully together in World War II, remembering, that Russia lost tens of millions of people, and we likewise, lost so many lives. We talked about the strengths of our respective Nations, and the great benefit that we will someday have in working together."

Furthermore, President Trump declared that "millions of deaths" have resulted from this conflict, and that "common sense" will be achieved through negotiations to end the war.

"But first, as we both agreed, we want to stop the millions of deaths taking place in the War with Russia/Ukraine. President Putin even used my very strong Campaign motto of 'COMMON SENSE'. We both believe very strongly in it. We agreed to work together, to see if we can bring this horrible and tragic War to a rapid conclusion, through negotiations," said Trump. "We have also agreed to have our respective teams start negotiations immediately, and we will begin by calling President Zelenskyy, of Ukraine, to inform him of the conversation, something which I will be doing right now."

Additionally, Trump shared his intention to tap members of his cabinet to lead these negotiations, and said if he was president during the start of the war instead of former President Joe Biden (D), then this conflict never would've happened.

"I have asked Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Director of the CIA John Ratcliffe, National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, and Ambassador and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, to lead the negotiations which, I feel strongly, will be successful. Millions of people have died in a War that should not have happened. If we were President, but it did happen, so it must end. No more lives should be lost.

Trump concluded by saying "I want to thank President Putin for his time and effort in respect to this call, and for the release, yesterday, of Marc Fogel, a wonderful man that I personally greeted last night at the White House. I believe this effort will lead to a successful conclusion, hopefully soon!"

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), Chairman of the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, held a hearing titled "Nuuk and Cranny: Looking at the Arctic and Greenland's Geostrategic Importance to U.S. Interests." In late January, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that America is about acquiring the land and that it is "in our national interest" to do so.

During this hearing, Sen. Cruz said Greenland is more than "some remote island" but holds "immense strategic and economic importance" for military use and trade purposes.

Cruz also spoke on the potential benefits for both parties should the United States acquire Greenland. He also shared the importance of creating a new fleet of "icebreaker" ships to navigate the elements of the frozen waters and compete with the likes of China and Russia.

“President Trump has highlighted the urgent need for a new fleet, and as Chairman, I’m committed to ending Russian and Chinese icebreaker dominance," said the Texas senator. "Executing on this quickly—not waiting for years and years on piecemeal, sclerotic annual appropriations—is vital for our national security, the economic productivity of Alaska and the Arctic, and our national shipbuilding capacity at American shipyards like Keppel Amfels and Bollinger."

Cruz also stated that the acquisition of Greenland contains more than strategic importance for both the military and transportation. Still, it also contains "vast reserves of rare earth elements" which could roll back dependence on foreign suppliers and adversaries such as China.

Moreover, Cruz assured that the acquisition of Greenland by the United States is "not about military force" but likely through a mutually confirming referendum from Greenlanders themselves. Cruz calls these benefits "enormous" for both sides.

“And let’s not forget—friends and allies can have tough conversations. The U.S. and Denmark have a strong relationship, and discussions about Greenland’s future don’t have to be adversarial," said Sen. Cruz. "If Greenland’s future were to include joining the U.S., that would require the approval of the Greenlandic people, likely through a referendum. This would be a mutual decision, and it’s one worth discussing. This is about shared interests, and the potential benefits for all sides are enormous."

He continued, sharing the potential mutual benefits for both Greenland and America.

"It will take billions in investment to develop Greenland’s natural resource wealth. That kind of investment from the U.S. could drastically improve the standard of living for Greenlanders—better infrastructure, stronger healthcare, improved education. It’s a win-win situation. Greenland’s economy would grow, and the U.S. would gain a stronger, more secure foothold in the Arctic," Cruz said.

Additionally, Representative Earl "Buddy" Carter (R-GA) recently introduced a bill that would rename Greenland to "Red, White, and Blueland." It would also grant cordial permission to President Donald Trump (R) to begin acquisition talks.

Representative Mike Haridopolos (R-FL) recently addressed the House Finance Committee in favor of two pieces of legislation: one holding China accountable for currency manipulation and another protecting small businesses from regulations that impose unnecessary costs.

H.R. 692, the China Exchange Rate Transparency Act, requires the U.S. Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to demand greater oversight of Chinese currency exchange rate practices.

Such a call is the result of suspicion that the Chinese are deliberately undervaluing their currency to promote exports.

"For decades, it’s been suspected that China manipulates its exchange rate to keep the dollar value of their currency artificially low. Why do they do this? To encourage exports and discourage imports, tipping the scales in their favor. That is not free trade, nor is it fair trade," said Rep. Haridopolos in his address to the House Finance Committee.

More to the point, Rep. Haridopolos emphasized how "even the World Trade Organization and the International Monetary Fund both prohibit the use of currency manipulation to gain trade advantages. However, like on so many other issues, the Chinese Communist Party’s lack of transparency on this issue has been a roadblock to taking action to end this unfair practice. So, let’s bring their trade practices into the sunlight."

The second bill, H.R. 736, AKA the Protect Small Businesses from Excessive Paperwork Act, aims to dilute "complicated and costly beneficial ownership reporting requirements" imposed on small businesses by the Biden Administration through the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA).

Specifically, the Corporate Transparency Act, as described by the House Finance Committee, was designed to detect shell companies used as fronts for illegal activity through an initially simple reporting system that quickly ballooned into a system that many small businesses are unaware of and cannot feasibly cooperate within a short amount of time.

Haridopolos echoed the impact on the House Finance floor, saying, "Many small businesses run on slim margins and are now facing added hardships due to the last Administration’s carelessness in implementing these reporting requirements."

As a result, "This bill takes a small step for common sense by giving our small businesses an additional year to report their beneficial ownership paperwork."

"This extension will also give Treasury Secretary Bessent and the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network the time to apply common sense in helping small businesses meet the reporting requirements. A bureaucrat’s carelessness shouldn’t become a back-breaking burden on small businesses, let’s pass this bill and get back to common sense," the Florida Congressman concluded.

Representatives Greg Steube (R-FL) and Joe Wilson (R-SC) recently wrote to Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, calling for action against Iran-backed militias embedded in Iraq's military and security forces.

As Rep. Steube explained in his letter, a combined $11.4 billion has been sent to Iraq for humanitarian assistance and training to defeat the Islamic State (ISIS). However, pro-Iran Shia militias such as the Badr Corps, the Abu Fadl al-Abbas Brigades, the Kata'ib Sayyad al Shuhada ("Master of Martyrs Brigade"), and Sarayya al-Jihad ("Jihad Corps") remain legal assets of Iraq's security and defense apparatus.

More egregiously, Iraq's National Security Adviser, Qasim al-Araji, is a senior leader of the Badr Corps, which has been involved in attacks on American forces even as the United States worked with the Corps to create the Popular Mobilization Forces against ISIS in 2014.

Since then, the same Shia militias have attacked American troops over 170 times in two years.

"Replacing ISIS with Iran-backed terrorist militias does not make sense and only fuels the onslaught of terror that the Iranian regime seeks to export. Furthermore, many Iran-backed militias in Iraq have not even been designated as Foreign Terrorist Organizations, including the Badr Corps itself," Rep. Steube continued.

As a result, the Florida Congressman recommended several policies, starting with designating militias such as the Badr Corps as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOS) and then imposing sanctions. Moreover, he demanded the immediate cessation of foreign aid to Iraq until the militias were expunged from the country's security forces.

In his press release, Steube said, "It is completely unacceptable that taxpayer dollars have long supported a system where Iranian-backed militias are armed, trained, and legally part of Iraq's government. Replacing ISIS with Iran-backed terrorist militias does not make sense and only fuels the onslaught of terror that the Iranian regime seeks to export."

"I'm glad to join Rep. Wilson in sending recommendations to the Trump Administration on how to combat Iranian terrorism in the Middle East. Under President Trump's leadership, the world will be safer, and America will be stronger," the Florida Congressman added.

Similarly, Rep. Wilson said, "It's time for a new Iraq policy. It doesn't make sense to continue to send billions of dollars to Iraq which is at the same time funding Iran backed militias which attack Americans. It's time to put America First. In President Trump's first term, the maximum pressure campaign bankrupted Iran, and I believe that through his leadership, we will counter Iran's malign role in Iraq."

With President Donald Trump being reelected to a second term in office, the ‘America First Agenda” has taken full swing, and has also taken a full swipe at the Communist Chinese government, as Republican lawmakers like Rep. Cory Mills (R) who have been emboldened with their control of all three branches of government, continue to fix their sights on China’s ongoing espionage and interference against the U.S.

Exclusive to The Floridian, Rep. Cory Mills, who has been one of the loudest opponents of the Chinese government, filed his “The Embassy Construction Integrity Act,” a legislative measure that calls for the U.S. State Department to revamp or increase its security protocols against Chinese aggression when opening up new consular and diplomatic locations around the world.

Newly-confirmed Secretary of State Marco Rubio has already signalled that it would not be business as usual at the State Department and a considerable overhaul on how the diplomatic government agency would do business in a Trump administration.

Here is what the bill calls for:

—This bill requires the State Department, before establishing a new diplomatic or consular post, to identify the beneficial owners of the companies involved in the construction, maintenance, etc. of those buildings.

—The bill prohibits the State Department from entering into contracts or agreements if the beneficial owner(s) of the companies are affiliated with the Chinese government.

—If inconsistent actions are discovered, the Secretary of State would be required to report it to Congress within 7 days.

“Protecting Americans and American interests means safeguarding them everywhere. When adversarial entities like the Chinese Communist Party infiltrate our embassies, it is a direct threat to our nation’s security and safety abroad,” said Congressman Cory Mills.

Mills continued, outlining why he reintroduced the bill, adding that he did so because of the “serious security threat” to the U.S. posed by Communist China.

“National security is non-negotiable. I am committed to exposing and preventing CCP-linked companies from infiltrating our embassies and consular posts. That’s why I’m reintroducing the Embassy Construction Integrity Act to block this serious security threat. The CCP’s espionage efforts are relentless, we have to take decisive action to protect our embassies and the personnel who serve there. As Chairman of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Intelligence within the House Foreign Affairs Committee, I will continue to ensure our nation is safeguarded from these adversarial threats.”

Last week, President Trump stated that he would take back the Panama Canal from China.

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) appeared on Real America's Voice to discuss her latest bill making English the official language of the United States. When asked why Congress hadn't already made English the official language, Rep. Greene provided a long-winded answer, sharing that Congress deserves total blame for a wide variety of problems and that an official English language designation is just the tip of the iceberg.

"This bill that I'll be introducing this week will make English the official language of the United States of America, and I think this is extremely important, as we are turning very hard into an Americans first response, and this in English should be recognized as the official language of the United States," said Rep. Greene.

She continued, sharing surprising statistics regarding the establishment of official languages around the world.

"I'll give you guys a quick stat. There's approximately 178 countries around the world that have an official language, and there's something like less than five countries around the world that don't have an official language, and for some reason, the United States is one of those. So it's time to make English the official language," said Greene.

Furthermore, one of the interviewers was surprised that the United States had not provided English as an official language. She asked what kind of problems would arise if this bill does not pass.

Greene's response:

"Well, I think we're already in big problems. And again, if I could answer your question, I could solve the problems here in Washington. But after all, I do serve in Congress, and Congress is completely responsible for the $36 trillion in debt for the American people. Congress is responsible for funding decades of Foreign Wars. Congress is responsible for the invasion across our southern border. Congress is responsible for all the problems that Americans are suffering with high inflation, over regulation, high taxes. Congress is responsible for these things, so it should be no surprise that Congress never made English the official language of the United States of America."

Marjorie Taylor Greene represents Georgia's 14th Congressional District.

The Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR) has released a "Know Your Rights" campaign directed toward Muslim immigrants to help them maneuver in and around U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids throughout the country. This move comes in response to President Donald Trump's executive order to deport Hamas sympathizers on student visas.

The guide for "Muslim Americans ... And all other community members" from CAIR provides the following steps to encountering ICE should someone be detained during an immigrant raid:

  1. Your Right to Remain Silent: you do not have to answer questions about your immigration status, religious views, or political beliefs.
  2. Seek Legal Representation: if you are detained or questioned, request to speak with an attorney.
  3. Ask to See a Signed Warrant: ask federal law enforcement who seek to enter your home to provide a valid warrant signed by a judge.
  4. Document Everything: if it is safe to do so, record names, badge numbers, statements made, and the names of anyone taken into custody.
  5. Carry Identification and Make a Plan: keep proof of lawful status with you and develop a family preparedness plan in case of detentions.

Furthermore, CAIR shares with the Muslim immigrant population that ICE, under President Trump's administration, is willing to go into "sensitive areas" but still needs consent or a warrant to do so.

"On President Trump’s first day back in office, his administration rescinded an existing policy that previously protected certain 'sensitive areas' from immigration enforcement—places such as houses of worship, schools, and hospitals. However, ICE agents still need consent or a valid judicial warrant to enter private spaces and locations," the Muslim advocacy group states.

Rep. Randy Fine
Rep. Randy Fine feeding Israeli soldiers in Israel

Moreover, the Muslim advocacy group CAIR described President Trump's executive order a "crackdown" on the First Amendment in regards to Muslim immigrants on student visas.

"Of particular alarm are Trump administration directives urging federal law enforcement to monitor the peaceful political activities of immigrants, such as attending pro-Palestinian human rights rallies and criticism of Israeli government actions, which represents an unprecedented crackdown on free speech and legal immigration," the Muslim advocacy group, CAIR wrote.

State Senator and U.S. House of Representatives District 6 hopeful Randy Fine (R-FL), a prominent Jewish legislator, commented to The Floridian regarding CAIR's latest campaign.

"CAIR is a front for Muslim terrorists. This is just another example of these pro-Muslim terror groups using American laws and liberties to keep dangerous terrorists and illegal immigrants in the country. If you are a pro-Muslim terror group, you should be rounded up and deported," said Sen. Fine.

According to Fox News, "Executive Order 13899 aims to combat the 'unprecedented wave of vile anti-Semitic discrimination, vandalism, and violence against our citizens, especially in our schools and on our campuses' since Oct. 7, 2023, when Hamas first attacked Israel, sparking the beginning of a 15-month war that has left tens of thousands of people dead."

Similarly, Arizona's Representative Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ) also remarked to The Floridian about CAIR's campaign, saying, "Americans sent a clear message in November— they voted for a mandate to put American First. That starts with standing firmly behind the men and women of law enforcement who keep our communities safe, including ICE agents."

Representative Greg Steube (R-FL) is introducing legislation to abolish the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and immediately halt all federal funding.

The Trump Administration has highlighted the waste, fraud, and abuse occurring at USAID in recent days. Elon Musk has been especially critical of the program, calling it "a criminal organization" in an X (formerly Twitter) post.

President Donald Trump, Musk, and Congressional Republicans have also brought attention to the left-wing social agendas pushed onto other countries via USAID, such as LGBTQ+ activism, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), climate change, and other divisive cultural issues.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio was recently appointed by President Trump as Acting Administrator of USAID, and he hinted at a potential reorganization in an America First fashion.

In his press release, Rep. Steube said, "For too long, USAID has funneled billions of American tax dollars into bloated, inefficient foreign aid programs that are riddled with waste, corruption, and ideological bias."

Additionally, he suggested that rather than "benefitting American taxpayers who fund these programs, USAID's initiatives often push progressive social agendas that are out of touch with the values and interests of our nation."

Rep. Steube further suggested USAID has little oversight of its recipients, who "do not have America's interests in mind and misuse the funds for purposes far removed from their original intent."

"It's time to put America first. We cannot afford to continue pouring money into an unaccountable bureaucracy that prioritizes global bureaucrats and political pet projects over the needs of hardworking Americans. My bill ends USAID's wasteful operations and redirects taxpayer dollars toward strengthening our nation's priorities," the Florida Congressman concluded.

In August 2023, former Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL) introduced a similar bill to abolish USAID. He said the legislation was immediately justified when the organization announced a program for "comprehensive sexuality education" abroad.

"On Tuesday, I introduced a bill to abolish USAID. The next day, USAID introduced a new framework to promote "comprehensive sexuality education" abroad via 'LGBTQI inclusive development.' They proved my point in less than 24 hours. They do not serve a meaningful purpose. They only work to promote international wokeism. USAID should be abolished," Rep. Gaetz previously said.
