The Law and Order Florida Legislature
The law and order-focused Republican-led Florida Legislature continues to push Gov. Ron DeSantisās agenda in the 2023 legislative session.
Speaker Paul Renner is pushing a series ofĀ measures to aid law enforcement and to help increase the penalties individuals face when committing a crime.
One of those measures would require that only a jury majority is needed to sentence a criminal to death for raping a child.
Abortion Fight Comes to Florida House
House Democrats will be bringing the 'A' game to the floor of the House of Representatives this week as the controversial 6-week abortion bill comes up for a vote. Over 50 amendments have been filed to stall the discussion and subsequent vote on the measure. Expect fireworks.
