Conservative lawmakers in Washington have condemned Venezuelan Dictator Nicolas Maduro’s latest threats and repressive tactics against Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado.

Machado recently reported Dictator Maduro sent undercover agents that attempted to break into her private residence in Caracas, Venezuela.

The agents, who arrived in a silver SUV without a license plate, allegedly threatened to arrest Machado’s neighbors as well as her home’s security guard.

Shortly following Machado’s alerts, Republican lawmakers publicly criticized the agents’ threats and intimidation attempts.

Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) and Representative Maria Elvira-Salazar (R-FL), two long-time Machado supporters and allies, excoriated Maduro for sending the agents.

“Maduro and his thugs are so scared of losing power that they’re resorting to raiding Machado’s home and threatening her neighbors,” said Senator Scott. “This cruel behavior is a desperate attempt to distract from what the world already knows—he’s an illegitimate dictator whose days in power are numbered.”

Representative Salazar echoed Scott’s message and alluded to Maduro facing consequences for “playing with fire.”

“Only 24 hours have passed since the announcement to cancel Chevron's license in Venezuela & dictator Maduro has already sent his thugs to the house of Machado,” stated Salazar. “Her life is in danger like never before.”

Maduro’s threats against Machado occurred shortly after the latter supported President Donald Trump’s recent economic measures crippling Venezuela’s oil exports.

President Trump canceled former President Joe Biden’s Venezuelan oil export licenses earlier this week.

President Trump’s license cancellation effectively reimposes sanctions on Venezuela’s oil sector that had been levied on Venezuela during Trump’s first term.

President Biden lifted such sanctions in the ‘Barbados Agreement’ in exchange for assurances from Dictator Maduro that he would host free and fair elections.

Despite promises of allowing free and fair elections, the Venezuelan regime barred Machado from participating in the same.

However, Machado invested her political capital into former Venezuelan Ambassador Edmundo Gonzalez, who subsequently won the presidential elections.

Subsequently, Gonzalez was forced to seek political asylum in Spain after the Maduro regime rejected the election results and threatened to arrest him.

Venezuelan Opposition leader Maria Corina Machado commended President Donald Trump’s recent decision to impose sanctions on Venezuela’s oil sector by revoking oil export licenses.

Machado made her comments during an interview with Donald Trump Jr where she discussed Venezuelan Dictator Nicolas Maduro’s repressive regime.

President Trump cancelled former President Joe Biden’s Venezuelan oil export licenses, effectively reimposing sanctions on Venezuela’s oil sector that had been levied during Trump’s first term.

Trump cited concerns regarding immigration enforcement and Dictator Maduro’s failure to permit free and fair elections as justifying the revocations.

“This is a huge step, and it sends a clear, firm message that Maduro is in huge trouble, and President Trump is with the Venezuelan people, with security, with freedom, with prosperity and peace for the whole region,” said Machado.

President Biden had granted the oil export licenses in the ‘Barbados Agreement’ in exchange for assurances from Maduro he would host free and fair elections.

Despite promises of allowing free and fair elections, the Venezuelan regime barred opposition leader Machado from participating in the same despite winning a landslide primary elections victory.

Instead of Biden’s conciliatory approach, Trump’s cabinet and close allies, such as Secretary of State Marco Rubio, have lobbied for a hardline strategy to Venezuela with the ultimate goal of a democratic transition rather than negotiating with Maduro to help the US economy.

“I send my gratitude to President Trump,” continued Machado. “This is the correct thing to do, its the right thing to do, the right moment to do it, and I am sure that this will have consequences in the very short term and I am very sure that the Venezuelan people feel right now secured that we are not alone.”

Pressure is mounting on Venezuelan Dictator Nicolas Maduro as US President Donald Trump has cancelled former President Joe Biden’s Venezuelan oil export licenses.

President Trump’s license cancellation effectively reimposes sanctions on Venezuela’s oil sector that had been levied on Venezuela during Trump’s first term.

Such sanctions were lifted by President Biden in the ‘Barbados Agreement’ in exchange for assurances from Dictator Maduro he would host free and fair elections.

Despite promises of allowing free and fair elections, the Venezuelan regime barred opposition leader Maria Corina Machado from participating in the same.

“We are hereby reversing the concessions that Crooked Joe Biden gave to Nicolás Maduro, of Venezuela, on the oil transaction agreement, dated November 26, 2022, and also having to do with Electoral conditions within Venezuela, which have not been met by the Maduro regime,” stated Trump.

Trump’s cabinet and close allies, such as Secretary of State Marco Rubio, have lobbied for a hardline approach to Venezuela with the ultimate goal of a democratic transition rather than negotiating with Maduro to help the US economy.

Trump had also alluded shortly after his November election victory that he would seek to end Venezuelan exports of oil to the US.

“We have more energy than anybody else. We're going to use it. We don't have to buy energy from Venezuela when we have 50 times more than they do. It's just insane what we're doing,” said Trump.

Venezuelan government officials criticized the oil export restriction, claiming that “in reality the US is self-inflicting damage to its people and businesses.”

Florida Republicans Maria Elvira-Salazar, Mario Diaz-Balart, and Carlos Gimenez released a joint statement commending Trump’s license revocation.

“When it comes to defending the cause of freedom in illegitimate regimes like Venezuela, Cuba, and Nicaragua, there is no greater ally than President Donald J. Trump,” reads the statement.

“President Trump is keeping his promise. The days of appeasing regimes that are hostile to the United States, coddling dictators, and sidelining our national security interests are over,“ continued the Florida lawmakers.

During a recent Fox News interview, Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently expressed his belief that, under President Donald Trump’s leadership, the US’ foreign policy towards Venezuela and Dictator Nicolas Maduro will be stricter than in previous years.

Secretary Rubio’s interview follows his efforts to broker an agreement where Venezuela agreed to accept deported Venezuelan illegal immigrants from the US as well as release six American hostages.

Rubio rejected critic’s arguments that negotiating with the Venezuelan regime legitimized its autocratic rule, stating that Venezuela has a legal obligation to accept its repatriated nationals.

“Remember, Venezuela stopped taking migration flights, deportations, because they wanted to blackmail Joe Biden,” said Rubio.

Conversely, Rubio assured “President Trump is not going to be blackmailed.”

Trump’s cabinet and close allies, such as Secretary of State Marco Rubio, have lobbied for a hardline approach to Venezuela with the ultimate goal of a democratic transition rather than negotiating with Maduro.

Shortly after Rubio’s statements, Trump announced the revocation of Venezuelan oil export licenses due to Venezuelan Dictator Nicolas Maduro’s refusal to host free and fair elections and cooperate in illegal immigrant deportation flights.

President Biden granted the licenses as part of the ‘Barbados Agreement’ in exchange for assurances from Dictator Maduro he would host free and fair elections.

The licenses effectively lifted sanctions imposed by Trump on Venezuela during his first presidency.

Yet, despite promises of allowing free and fair elections, the Venezuelan regime barred opposition leader Maria Corina Machado from participating in the same.

Consequently, Trump ordered the sanctions relief enjoyed by Venezuela in the form of oil licenses to end as of March 1st.

Senator Rick Scott (R-FL), like most Republicans, was ecstatic with the Inauguration of President Donald Trump (R) on Monday. At the event, Sen. Scott brought Edmundo GonzĂĄlez, whom the United States recognizes as the democratically elected President of Venezuela.

The Florida senator shared that he was "proud" to have President GonzĂĄlez with him at the Inauguration to witness a peaceful transfer of power.

“I’m incredibly proud to attend President Donald Trump’s inauguration today, and to be joined by Venezuela’s President-elect Edmundo González," said Sen. Scott. "President-elect González was elected by the people of Venezuela, under the leadership of María Corina Machado, and is a beacon of hope for a new day of freedom for those oppressed by murderous dictator Nicolás Maduro.

Senator Rick Scott

Senator Rick Scott

Furthermore, Sen. Scott mentioned that he looks forward to President Trump and his administration standing with the Venezuelan people to "fight for freedom and democracy" and hold Dictator Maduro accountable.

"As Maduro deprives the Venezuelan people of their rightful leader, openly threatens the United States and holds Americans hostage, we must make clear the United States will hold Maduro accountable and will not take these threats lightly," said Scott. "As governor and senator, I’ve stood with the people of Venezuela in their fight for freedom and democracy, and I’m looking forward to having a strong partner in President Trump back in the White House who will do the same.”

Furthermore, Senators Scott, Bill Cassidy (R-LA), and Ted Cruz (R-TX) recently reintroduced legislation upping the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Venezuelan dictator, Nicolas Maduro. The current maximum reward is $15 million, but it would increase to $100 million with the bill's passage.

The bill is known as the Securing Timely Opportunities for Payment and Maximizing Awards for Detaining Unlawful Regime Officials (STOP MADURO) Act. The reward money would not be sourced from taxpayer dollars, but rather from already-held seized assets from the Maduro regime. The U.S. Attorney's Office in South Florida has already confiscated $450 million.

Sen. Cruz mentioned that this legislation increases the pressure on Maduro in a "badly needed effort" for accountability.

“Nicolás Maduro is a corrupt dictator and thug. The STOP MADURO Act helps badly needed efforts to hold him and his regime accountable," said Sen. Cruz. "I’m proud to cosponsor this effort, and will continue to work with the incoming Trump administration and my colleagues in Congress on these issues.”

Addressing Latin America's problems could very well be the Trump administration's bread and butter, considering the politicians Trump has put around him. With newly confirmed Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Sen. Scott, and members of the House of Representatives such as Congresswoman Maria Elvira Salazar (R-FL) and others tackling this issue for years, change in Venezuela could come.

A bipartisan group of House members have reintroduced a bill raising the U.S. Department of Justice's bounty on Venezuelan dictator NicolĂĄs Maduro to $100 million.

Florida Reps. Carlos Gimenez (R), Darren Soto (D), Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D), MarĂa Elvira Salazar (R), Mario DĂaz-Balart (R), and New Jersey Rep. Chris Smith (R) have joined forces to reintroduce the bill. The increase in funds is from assets that have been seized from Maduro and his regime.

News of the effort comes after Maduro took the oath of office in front of Venezuela's National Assembly, effectively securing another term in office despite mounting evidence that he lost the election last year to Edmundo GonzĂĄlez Urrutia. Urrutia also recently took a trip to the Capitol, meeting with lawmakers and encouraging pushback against the Maduro regime.

In a statement, Rep. Wasserman Schultz explained that "increasing the reward that leads to Maduro's conviction will reinforce the actions taken by the Biden-Harris Administration to target the criminal enterprise behind Venezuela's election theft and the violent repression of its people." "The Biden-Harris White House marshaled swift international pressure onto the Maduro regime, expanding existing sanctions, and rallied global support around the reality that Edmundo GonzĂĄlez won in a landslide."

Rep. DĂaz-Balart countered the praise of the Biden-Harris Administration, arguing that the incumbent's "appeasement" has only emboldened the Maduro regime.

"The decision to weaken sanctions has jeopardized our national security and empowered a regime closely allied with dangerous adversaries like Russia, Iran, Cuba, and the People's Republic of China," he said in a statement.

Looking forward to the incoming Trump Administration, he warned that "the days of impunity are over. There will be severe consequences and accountability for the harm inflicted on the Venezuelan people."

The Senate companion was reintroduced by Florida Senator Rick Scott (R), Texas Senator Ted Cruz (R), and Louisiana Rep. Bill Cassidy (R).

Senators Rick Scott (R-FL), Ted Cruz (R-TX), and Bill Cassidy (R-LA) have reintroduced legislation upping the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Venezuelan dictator, Nicolas Maduro.

Sen. Scott said that the Venezuelan people want a "new day of freedom and democracy" and his bill helps foster that notion.

“The Venezuelan people have made it overwhelmingly clear that President-elect Edmundo González is their rightful leader in an effort led by opposition leader María Corina Machado. They want a new day of freedom and democracy – the time of Maduro’s oppressive dictatorship is OVER," said Sen. Scott. "In support of the people of Venezuela, the United States must stand strongly against any attempt by Maduro to illegitimately cling to power through violence or repression, and make way for President-elect González to bring democracy, freedom and opportunity back to Venezuela."

The Florida senator continued, sharing that this reward increase will help put an end to the Maduro regime.

"My bill, the STOP MADURO Act, will increase the maximum reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Maduro to $100 million, using seized assets instead of U.S. taxpayer money to bring an end to the tyranny caused by this narcoterrorist. In 2020, the Trump administration did the right thing by offering a reward of up to $15 million, but it’s time to up the ante and get this good bill passed ASAP," concluded Scott.

As for Sen. Cruz, he mentioned that this legislation increases the pressure on Maduro in a "badly needed effort" for accountability.

Finally, Sen Cassidy shared, “The people of Venezuela rightfully elected President-Elect Edmundo Gonzalez. His recognition as president is a contrast between a representative democracy and a dictatorship which aligns itself with narco-terrorists, Iran, Russia, and China. Only the Venezuelan people can seize this power back, but the U.S. should do everything we can to support this effort.”

Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado was violently detained by Dictator Nicolas Maduro’s security forces, as reported by local media.

Machado was leading global rallies to dispute Dictator Maduro’s planned January 10th inauguration when she was abruptly sequestered.

According to Democratic opposition forces, Machado was released after being forced to film a series of videos, the content of which is currently unknown.

Machado’s detainment is the latest episode in a chain of violent instances of repression that Maduro has executed since Venezuela’s presidential elections last July.

Venezuela’s elections follow failed negotiations between Venezuela’s government and President Biden’s administration over electoral assurances in exchange for sanctions relief.

Despite promises of allowing free and fair elections, the Venezuelan regime barred Machado from participating in the same.

Machado then invested her political capital into Gonzalez, who subsequently won the presidential elections.

Despite Gonzalez’s victory, Maduro’s electoral commission declared Maduro as the winner without showing proof of the votes he received while subsequently coercing Gonzalez into departing Venezuela.

Gonzalez condemned Machado’s arbitrary detention via X.

“Very serious! The fact that Maria Corina is free does not minimize the fact of what happened, she was kidnapped in conditions of violence,” said Gonzalez.

Machado’s arrest antecedes Gonzalez’s expected Venezuela return to dethrone Maduro and be installed as the rightful president.

Meanwhile, Maduro’s regime has publicly warned they will arrest Gonzalez if he dares to return to Venezuela and have reportedly placed a $100,000 bounty for information leading to his arrest.

Machado’s arrest foreshadows Gonzalez’s potential destiny were he to return to Venezuela.

It remains unclear when or how Gonzalez will return, but he is expected to do so prior to Maduro’s inauguration ceremony on January 10th.

Venezuelan President-elect Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia recently met with Florida lawmakers during his diplomatic trip to Washington, D.C.

President-elect Gonzalez met with lawmakers prior to his return to Venezuela on January 10th to demand he be inaugurated as Venezuela’s legitimate president.

Opposition leader Maria Corina Machado also virtually joined the meetings, which Gonzalez described as demonstrating how Venezuela is a “cause for everyone.”

Among the lawmakers Gonzalez met with were Florida Republican Representatives Maria Elvira Salazar, Mario Diaz Balart, and Carlos Gimenez.

The representatives have all consistently supported and endorsed the Venezuelan political opposition’s quest for realizing democracy and ending Dictator Nicolas Maduro’s tyrannical regime.

“We will always be on the side of freedom and democracy in Venezuela,” said Representative Salazar. “The brave Venezuelan people have our full support!”

Gonzalez also met with President-elect Donald Trump’s newly appointed National Security Adviser, Mike Waltz.

Waltz and Gonzalez reportedly discussed upcoming global protests set for January 9th to pressure Dictator Maduro into relinquishing power.

Gonzalez claimed Waltz assured him that “the United States, and the world, will be alert to what happens in our country.”

Gonzalez was elected during Venezuela’s Presidential elections last July.

Venezuela’s elections follow failed negotiations between Venezuela’s government and President Biden’s administration over electoral assurances in exchange for sanctions relief.

Despite promises of allowing free and fair elections, the Venezuelan regime barred opposition leader Machado from participating in the same.

Maxwell Alejandro Frost-Question from a Floridian: Do I wear my snow shoes all day or wear them to my office and then swap out my dress shoes?

Debbie Wasserman Schultz-Today, VP @KamalaHarris ensured a democratic transfer of power went the way it should – peacefully, with loyalty to the Constitution.

As @hakeemjeffries said, you can't support democracy only when your side wins.

Jay Collins-Make America Florida.

Mario Díaz-Balart-It is a true honor and pleasure to meet with President-elect @EdmundoGU , and reaffirm our unwavering support and solidarity for the cause of freedom in Venezuela and for holding Maduro and his thugs accountable for their crimes.

Under President @realDonaldTrump, America will enter a new era of leadership–one that refuses to appease murderous dictatorships.

The Venezuelan people will be free due to the courage of leaders within the democratic opposition.

Gus Bilirakis-Happy Epiphany to all of those who observe! While I would like to be celebrating alongside you, I am in Washington, DC with votes scheduled. May the joy and hope that accompanies this holy day stay with each of you throughout the year.

Venezuelan President-elect Edmundo Gonzalez-Urrutia will visit US lawmakers in Washington, D.C. this week prior to leaving for Venezuela and facing Venezuelan Dictator Nicolas Maduro.

Gonzalez is reportedly scheduled to meet with President Joe Biden and Congressional leaders as he prepares to return to Venezuela on January 10th and demand he be inaugurated as Venezuela’s legitimate president.

Gonzalez’s meetings antecede global protests set for January 9th to pressure Maduro into relinquishing power.

US Senator Rick Scott (R-FL), a consistent supporter of Venezuela’s democratic opposition forces, is one of the lawmakers that will meet with Gonzalez during his DC visit.

“I’m eager to meet with President-elect Edmundo Gonzalez next week and look forward to his rightful inauguration as Venezuela’s leader on January 10th,” said Senator Scott.

Machado then invested her political capital into Gonzalez, who subsequently won the presidential elections.

Despite Gonzalez’s victory, Maduro’s electoral commission declared Maduro as the winner without showing proof of the votes he received.

“González’s legitimate victory reflects the will of the Venezuelan people,” continued Scott. “In contrast, Nicolás Maduro is a thug who is willing to do anything to stay in power, acting as a puppet for Iran, China, Russia and Cuba.”

Ultimately, Gonzalez was forced to seek political asylum in Spain after the Maduro regime threatened to arrest him.

However, Gonzalez has vowed to return to Venezuela and be reinstated as the rightful president.

Meanwhile, Maduro’s regime has publicly warned they will arrest Gonzalez if he dares to return to Venezuela and have reportedly placed a $100,000 bounty for information leading to his arrest.

Senator Randy Fine-Went and saw Mom today for the first time since her funeral. President Trump asked me to run for Congress just four days later. What a ride the past 40 days have been.

Mom, I wish you were here with me. I miss you and Courtney very much.

Byron Donalds-Democrats increased our federal spending to astronomical levels & told you higher taxes would cover their recklessness.

THEY LIED.

We're now $36T in debt.

We can't just keep spending.

We have to be fiscally responsible.

We must be honest about what reforms & cuts are needed.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz-Deposed Syrian President al-Assad gassed, tortured & killed his own people. Putin is the world’s most dangerous tyrant. Gabbard apologized for both.

She lacks the judgement needed to lead our intelligence agencies.
